Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

The SINP has recently reorganized its previous nine categories into three main categories: International Skilled Worker, Saskatchewan Experience, and Entrepreneur and Farm.

1. International Skilled Worker

This category is for skilled workers who wish to work and live in Saskatchewan. It uses a point-based system focusing on:

  • Employment offers
  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Language ability
  • Age
  • Family connections in Saskatchewan (can account for up to 20% of total points)

Requirements include:

  • Minimum language score of CLB 4 (Canadian Language Benchmark) via a SINP-approved test
  • Settlement funds must be demonstrated

In 2014, SINP accepted 250 applications from candidates without employment offers, provided their high-skilled occupation is in demand and listed as having good or fair employment prospects in Saskatchewans Detailed Occupational Outlook (20132017).

2. Saskatchewan Experience

This category is for foreign workers already living and working in Saskatchewan. It includes the following streams:

  • Existing Work Permit
  • Health Professions
  • Hospitality Sector Pilot Project
  • Long Haul Truck Drivers
  • Students

3. Entrepreneur and Farm

This category has been consolidated into three streams:

  • Entrepreneur
  • Farm Owners/Operators
  • Young Farmers (sub-stream)
